What is CBD and how does it work?
CBD, THC, HHC: Anyone who has come into contact with cannabis in one way or another has probably come across some of these abbreviations. Although they are all related to cannabis in some way, they refer to very different active ingredients in the versatile plant. So that you are well informed about CBD, this article is dedicated to the most important questions about the popular ingredient of the hemp plant.
What is CBD?
As already indicated, cannabidiol (CBD for short) is one of the active ingredients in the hemp plant and is found in its flowers. In contrast to tetrahydrocannabiol (THC), the psychoactive component of cannabis, CBD has no intoxicating effect and can therefore be consumed without hesitation. CBD is also the active ingredient from which the currently very popular HHC is made.
The hemp plant belongs to the Cannabis Sativa genus and cannot be distinguished in its external appearance from the THC plant, which is banned in Austria. Individual active ingredients, their values and the question of whether a product is legal or illegal can therefore only be determined or answered in the laboratory. In order to guarantee the highest standards, supHerb works with the certified Institute for Hemp Analysis.
Is CBD legal?
One of the first (and most important) questions to ask about CBD is legality. Long story short: Yes, CBD is legal. The substance is not listed on the Narcotic Index, so CBD is not considered a drug. Since CBD is also not addictive, it can be consumed without hesitation. There are various ways of doing this. Spoiler: You don't have to smoke CBD (more on that below).
What is CBD used for?
Whether to treat pain, stress or sleep problems: there are a variety of ailments that CBD can have a positive effect on. In addition to healing effects on physical ailments (including inflammation, pain, migraines, PMS or period pains, and much more), CBD is also said to have anxiolytic and calming effects.
Of course, individual medical questions and dosage should ideally be clarified with a doctor. However, supHerb takes care of the fact that the consumed CBD meets the highest quality standards for you.
How to consume CBD?
How to take CBD is largely a matter of personal preference. As far as that goes, the fabric is very flexible. One of the best-known ways is to take it up through the lungs, i.e.: to smoke CBD. As a healthier alternative, CBD can also be vaped. The flowers are vaporized and the vapor enriched with CBD is then inhaled.
You can also take CBD as a capsule, candy or oil. The latter is the purest form, which is why you will also find high-quality CBD drops in the supHerb range. How many drops you should take for the desired effect depends on the product and the concentration. In short, the stronger the product, the less you need to take.
